My name is Nicholas, a 22 year old medical student. I started out playing piano when I was 6 years old and achieved a maximum of grade 5 in the ABRSM exams - I decided after that that I did not want to play piano for exams. My passion for the piano was shaped under two important teachers - Ms Christina, who allowed me to play anything I wanted, thus making the piano very fun and Ms Ashikawa in Germany, under whom I studied for two years. Ms Ashikawa, a concert pianist with the Cologne Orchestra, was instrumental in developing my technique as well as exposing me to a large variety of demanding classical pieces.

In 2015, I made the decision to upgrade my Bohemia piano and so I began searching and trying out all the top-tier brands in Singapore. My search was almost rendered futile, as I could not find a piano that I fell in love with even after browsing through most of the brands. It was not until I stumbled upon a forum in Singapore which spoke highly of the brand Sauter and Mr. Alvin. Intrigued, I made an appointment to view the pianos even though there was not much information on the web. This was when something clicked. When I first started playing on one of the pianos in the showroom, I realised that there was something different here - something special. The piano was highly responsive, had a huge tonal range and sounded amazing. Mr. Alvin then went on to demonstrate the full prowess of his pianos, which inevitably sold me on them. A week later, he informed me that a special model was available - the Concent.

After a long period of deep thought, I decided to make a leap of faith a purchase the piano, and till this day I consider it one of the best purchases that I have made. The piano is everything that I could have hoped for - Mr. Alvin has a knack for customising the piano to one's individual needs. And although I play the instrument extremely frequently, I am continually surprised and left in awe of its superb sound, highly responsive touch and wide tonal range. Simply put, Sauter pianos look beautiful, sound amazing and feel awesome.

It is something that I constantly look forward to at the end of a long and tiring day - where I can  relax, simply be lost in the music and wander through the melodies and sounds of the piano. It is truly a great instrument.
